Unbelievably rude owner of ipcamtalk.com BEWARE Posted: 25 Jun 2020 12:31 PM PDT I've seen another thread mentioning issues with the site, but here is something that just happened to me: https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/ispy-free-limitations.48943/ Some quotes: " No because you are a lazy ass and a liar. " " Yes, that is exactly why I called you lazy, because you have Caribbean as your location. Do something to me. Asshole. IPCAMTALK does not cower to race baiting pricks. " " The fact that you cannot read a spec sheet is not hikvisions problem. That is exactly why hikvision does not want to sell to or deal with inept novices like yourself. " And in a PM " Unfortunately, your recent report has been rejected: Post in thread 'iSpy free limitations?' - FUCK YOU, RACE BAITING LAZY PRICK. Today at 10:41 AM " [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jun 2020 07:36 AM PDT Hi all I'm wanting to install a couple magnetic door locks and have a bright set of red/green LEDs on either side of the doors to indicate whether the door is locked (red) or unlocked (green). While shopping for locks I haven't been able to find one that has terminals or even options provided for external status LEDs either on the lock itself or the relay. I have seen this done before so I'm positive there's a solution out there. The LED bulbs I have I soldered to small PCBs in a circular pattern which will then go behind some frosted acrylic plastic. Pending the power configuration of the lock I will add the correct resistors to it. 12v is the maximum voltage I would like to pass through the LEDs. From my research so far most locks can be configured in either 12v or 24v. Any ideas or lock recommendations that would achieve this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jun 2020 09:41 AM PDT Hey all! My 4 year old gets into everything and while we are working long-term on discipline I need a short to medium solution to locking offices, pantries, and bedrooms. Anyone have a suggestion for easy to use biometric locks that support 2 users? TIA [link] [comments] |
wyze cam no longer sends out push notification Posted: 25 Jun 2020 09:08 AM PDT Hi, I am asking for help. I have a Wyze V2 indoor cam. Ever since I put in a micro SD card into the cam, it no longer sends out push notifications to me. It still records motion and person movements and I can view life views but I am not able to get any push notifications. [link] [comments] |
How to prevent accidentally spying on my neighbor with my camera? Posted: 24 Jun 2020 07:34 PM PDT Hello all, Housed in this neighborhood are very very packed tightly together. Like very tight. I installed some cameras and it's in the perfect position to catch someone trying to jump my backyard. Well I made it a routine to check the day's footage nightly. Everything seemed fine for the first few days I had it. However, one night when reviewing, the camera caught my neighbors making love on their pool table in what I'm assuming is some sort of family room. Another time, my camera caught the husband walking around nude. If I angle that specific camera a little more to the left, then i can't see the entirety of the door and a few feet above it and a little to it's right (which is where my neighbors live). I'll see mostly the wall of my house if I don't have it this way. At the same time, I don't wanna see another man's penis or it in his wife. I don't want something to happen and the cops think I'm some sick stalker selling his neighbor's porno or something. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Non-Commercial Outdoor camera that has accessible online CVR feature? Posted: 24 Jun 2020 11:32 PM PDT I'd like to replace my NEST with a proper security cam that provides online CVR capabilities similar to the NEST cam. Does something like this exist on non-commercial cameras? I know I'd need to get a DVR, but is there a way to display these online anywhere I want? [link] [comments] |
Home with existing alarm system Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:53 PM PDT So I recently bought a house that was built in 2002. It has a Monitronics alarm system with Ademco keypads. The previous owner died and no one knows the key code for the alarm system. I am trying to find out if there is any way to reset the code so that i can use the alarm to chime when any of the doors or windows open. I'm not concerned about having the system monitored because Brinks says it will cost $900 to get the system up and running again (even though it was in use less than a year ago, WTF). Surely I cant be the first person to run into this kind of situation. I guess if the previous owner had service with brinks, maybe they can give me the pass code? or is there a way to figure out if it has a master code and what that might be? Any other suggestions...? Can anyone help me with Blue Iris initial setup? Posted: 24 Jun 2020 07:20 PM PDT I am losing my mind trying to get this to work. I am not all that great with networking and cannot find a good guide. I have Blue Iris on a PC with duel NIC, ASUS router, Poe switch and amcrest cams. I want the cameras/switch on the second NIC, completely shut off from my main LAN and the internet and have the camera feed only accessible locally and from Blue Iris mobile app through VPN server that is setup on my router. I am not 100% sure of all the setting I need to configure on my router or second NIC. I setup openvpn server and a DDNS on my router and now I'm lost. [link] [comments] |
