Is the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 compatible with a SimpliSafe alarm system? Posted: 13 Jun 2020 01:20 PM PDT My wife and I just purchased a new home that has smart home features. It has a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 installed. I already have SimpliSafe for my home alarm system. Can the IQ Panel 2 be programmed to work with my SimpliSafe system? I'd really like to avoid having another alarm panel right next to the IQ Panel 2. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Jun 2020 12:11 PM PDT I have read a lot about getting a good dog for home defense. Unfortunately, one of my kids are deathly allergic to dogs (at least the ones she's interacted with so far). I don't want to get a dog purely for home defense and leave them chained outside. I'd prefer them to be part of the family. Any other animals that I can integrate with my family (that's fun loving like dogs) that can also double as home defense with enough love and care? Ipcamtalk - safety concerns and actually addressing them (FBI?) Posted: 13 Jun 2020 01:44 PM PDT I left ipcamtalk a little while ago because I felt that it was just a place to shill for unsafe cameras, and line ipcamtalk's wallet only. However, it turns out that there are worse issues there. Just saw this and f! Security violations, stalking, abuse, privacy, harassment, unethical governance need your ideas - what can we do? Any relevant law enforcement agencies? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Jun 2020 11:17 PM PDT Hello all, I have zero idea about this stuff as I didn't learn it before, can someone help me? or can someone provide me some site or news for doing this study? Objective Quick analysis of the existing IoT security landscape and the effectiveness of current solutions. Explore new ways to identify and mitigate IoT security risk for home and business users from the perspective of Application Layer Security. Background Huge amounts of electronic devices used by individuals and corporations are wired and interconnected which are collectively called Internet of Things (IoT). The higher interconnectivity leads to better communication amongst devices which in turn brings us convenience but also a new attack vector for hackers. Security concern are an exponential function of the numbers of connected IoT devices. In light of the data sensitivity of what IoT devices have access to, it's important to understand their security risk and ideally, minimize the risk. Question - Problems: Analyze IoT devices which are common for domestic and commercial usages. Study the IoT security vulnerabilities poised by such devices. Who are the likely attackers? What are the common attack methods? - Analysis of Existing Solutions: How to efficiently and cost-effectively identify and minimize such risks? Is the current protection on the Application Layer adequate? Are the existing software and tools powerful enough to protect the users? What are the costs, benefits or limitations? - Feasibility Study of New Solutions: Any necessity to make a new device or solution to tackle such risk? If so, what are the technical requirements for such solution? A prototype of the solution - Recommended Best Practice for home and business users: Recommended best practice of enhancing Application Layer Security for IoT [link] [comments] |
