Recommendation needed for simple access verification Posted: 17 Apr 2020 11:34 PM PDT Looking for a product that combines a motion detector and keypad / alarm. When the sensor is triggered it should prompt the visitor to enter a code within a set time. Failure to do so should cause an alarm to sound and if possible, a text to be sent to the owner. What product (available in Europe) is recommendable? [link] [comments] |
Buying a house with ADT installed Posted: 17 Apr 2020 06:24 PM PDT Previous owners have ADT and mentioned they already paid for the equipment and have it installed currently. They asked if we would like to use ADT for our security. We asked friends who use them and we got neutral/negative reviews. We're looking at other options. The previous owners also mentioned that if not, they will terminate their contract and ADT will take back the equipment. Not sure why the company will take it back of they already purchased it? I would just like the equipment not to leave holes/damages. Has anyone had experience w/ ADT removing equipment? What security system would you recommend? We would like a doorbell and/or front yard camera, window alarms and a back door alarm. [link] [comments] |
SecurityCamera - Remote POE+ and Outdoor Access Point powered by 120v. Posted: 17 Apr 2020 05:55 PM PDT Hello all, This is a slight tangent, but have an output near me house, about 200ft away which has an AC outlet on it. From that outpost, i want to setup this camera: https://www.amazon.com/SUNBA-Tracking-Broadcasting-Infrared-Illuminati/dp/B0829SB867/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=sunba+motion&qid=1587170834&s=electronics&sr=1-2 Which will require POE+at. Considering i only have 120v at the site i want to run the camera from and i don't have the ability to run ethernet cable to this location, what are my options for connecting this camera to my home wifi mesh (Netgear Orbi) system? I see plenty of Access Points with POE for power, but can't seem to locate an outdoor Wifi Access Point powered by 120v and has POE+at for network output ports, as an all-in-one unit. Does anyone know if this exists? And if it doesn't what is an economical alternative? TIA! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Apr 2020 09:05 AM PDT Hi, i am mulling over the idea of having a security system installed in a house we just bought. I don't know a lot about these, and I do have some concerns. I live near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I am thinking a couple outdoor cameras, door bell garage door opener. There are quite a few system providers in my area, Telus, adt, ect.. Any suggestions on these as far as bang for buck. Also as far as cameras go, who has access? What happens with the video. Sorry about the rambling but just looking for overall advice. Thanks [link] [comments] |
