Build my own Ring Camera solution Posted: 08 Jan 2021 01:26 PM PST Hi. I am looking for someone to help teach my kids how to build a webcam and build object detection. I have seen some YouTube videos but I would like someone to help teach them. Any ideas? We live in the Chicago area. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Jan 2021 08:42 AM PST Hello everyone, I would like to add cameras to watch my pool, driveway, and front door (doorbell camera.) I have ordered a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro to replace my USG, and I thought I would just add some G4s and call it a day. I also have a Unifi POE switch in the attic, so installation of POE cameras should not be overly difficult. However, I keep seeing reviews of people saying to use Reolink 4K cameras and Blue Iris. Are the Unifi cameras not good? Or just more expensive? I would like to not add another system to my home, but I also want the best bang for my buck. Thank you. [link] [comments]
Can my fairly powerful Primary Work PC double as a NVR PC with blue iris for a 12 Camera Setup? Posted: 08 Jan 2021 09:18 AM PST I have a primary work PC ( I am owner of business/PC) with a i9-9900 32gb ram Win 10 Pro, and it acts as our SQL server for inventory software and my 8 hour a day workstation. . Would I see performance issues making it a NVR PC as well? I am in the entry stages of researching this but I thought I could buy a 4tb HD, Cameras, and Blue IRIS. Avoiding a second PC is Ideal to me. let me know! [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Jan 2021 06:54 AM PST What nvr software do you Peoples recommend. I would like something I could set up to send motion alerts, and If I could use it to trigger other smart devices to do stuff based on motion that would be a plus. Doesn't have to be free software, but I don't want to have to pay a monthly subscription. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Jan 2021 04:46 PM PST So mad at myself. I just finished reading Ghost in the Wire and started reading The Art of Deception and yet I just let a sales person walk into my home to use the bathroom because I felt bad for him. Not to mention also answered questions like "how long have you been in the area? Know anyone in town yet". I know better. Can't believe it. I at the very least the company afterwards to see if there was supposed to be a sales rep in my area, which there was, but still. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Jan 2021 08:44 PM PST I've asked a few different places but figured I would ask here as I know a lot of people run IP cams on blue iris. If anyone is using amcrest or similar cameras, do you know if the interval settings (range 15-150) is set as fps, or i-frames every set seconds? Example, if I set my fps at 15 and then set the i-frame at 15, am I getting one i-frame every 15fps, or one i-frame every 15 seconds? [link] [comments]
Look for a 4 camera (wired) package system - Reolink, or something better? Posted: 07 Jan 2021 08:39 PM PST I'm looking for something I'll be able to access with my phone or computer. I don't want to use blue iris. Is there a package that works together that has 4 high quality cameras? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Jan 2021 07:55 PM PST Hi - I'm in the process of buying a house and I'm trying to figure out the alarm system. The Sellers have ADT and they claim that they are 1/2 way into a contract (unknown length) and pay about $58 a month for a DSC alarm. They are asking if I want to take over the contract. Obviously they benefit if I take it over, but I want to make sure that I do too. I called ADT and they said it would be about $53 a month with a new contract plus an $100 installation fee. The alarm system they have is pretty sophisticated, it has a fancy phone app and a lot of senors. I also called a handful of other providers to see if I could use the existing system with another service, but the major companies that I've spoken to can't do it. I am not reading good thing about ADT, any suggestions here? What does ADT typically charge after those contracts are over? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
