adt pulse doorbell. stealing alarm code attack? Posted: 05 Mar 2020 03:57 AM PST Last night a guy in all black rang the doorbell but I have it setup to record prior to the doorbell ring (on motion). He has what appears to be an antenna on his phone, he counts to 5 on his right hand and then rings the doorbell and runs off. I filed a report with the local sheriff and gave them a video copy. The ADT doorbell is wired in but the actions of the person make me thing he is running an app to steal alarm codes. Anyone know of this type of attack working with ADTPulse systems? RING camera: Can video be viewed if internet connection is down? (w/ protect plus) Posted: 05 Mar 2020 01:27 PM PST IF I install a RING camera, can I view the camera remotely IF my internet connection is down? I'm concerned a would-be-thief would simply clip my internet before approaching my house. I understand the alarm will go out via cellular if I subscribe to protect plus, but can I view the video camera remotely via that same cellular backup link? (Aside from wanting to preserve the video footage of an incident, I also like to occasionally 'check-in' on my home- to check on my pets or possibly see if my driveway is becoming snowed-over....gives me an edge on knowing WHEN I need to head home during nasty weather.) Recommendations for a smart-lock deadbolt? Posted: 05 Mar 2020 11:09 AM PST Does anyone have recommendations for a smart-lock deadbolt? Maybe what brands are reputable and which aren't. Or is it just better to use a regular deadbolt for the front door? [link] [comments] |
Suggestions for fake security cameras that look real? Posted: 05 Mar 2020 10:38 AM PST Hi, I live in a nice safe neighborhood where the only burglary type crimes would be the occasional druggy rifling through unlocked cars. Any actual home burglary is very rare. I can't really afford a real camera system but nowadays seemingly everyone has cameras or at least a ring doorbell and I don't want to be the only house with no cameras. So I'm looking into just getting some fake cameras and a couple signs to act as a deterrent. But I don't want something that a criminal will be able to easily notice that it's fake. I'm thinking a dome type would be best because they look a little more subtle in my opinion. Any suggestions or info is appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Reolink RLC-410 advanced settings Posted: 05 Mar 2020 05:26 AM PST Some time ago I picked up a Relolink RLC-410-5MP based on a lot of reviews and some folks that seem to like them. It looks like a Dahua clone or even OEM possibly. But one glaring isssue is I cannot seem to set CBR instead of VBR nor can you set the keyframe interval. (At least not from the web interface) Anybody have any experience with these? Sadly I've had it too long to send it back now. [link] [comments] |
Any recommendation for good fire resistant safe around $400? Posted: 04 Mar 2020 07:05 PM PST I'm planning to keep some cash(canadian plastic bills specifically) which melt at 250F 140c. Have looked at amazon and reviews scare me, some are just laughable when it comes to fire resistant claim with exposed drill holes you can stick a finger through. [link] [comments] |
