I have a Recording system, called "provision" which not recording Posted: 31 Jan 2021 10:28 AM PST the recording system is connected to 2 cameras which you can see (live) through the recording system that is connected to the screen, but when you want to see what has it has recorded for the past hour it shows "no information". I tried taking the recording system to my house, I connected it to my cameras and it did record, I could see what happened a few hours ago. so I thought maybe the problem is with the cameras at that place so I changed the cameras but it still showed "no information". maybe some of you can help the recording system: *sorry for the bad English [link] [comments]
Mother in law got attacked in her pawn shop, any advice? Posted: 31 Jan 2021 01:15 PM PST The other day, a guy came in, fully covered, and rushed my mother in law, pushing her against the wall, putting a hand over her mouth and telling her to shut up. My uncle came out and got tackled by another guy and thrown across the room. The second guy then casually strolled out and walked down the street, and the first guy, after unsuccessfully trying to drag my mother in law out, followed him out and left. Neither of them said anything else, and they didn't take anything. This all happened in about 30 seconds. Really bizarre, my mother in law said it seemed like they were doing it for fun or as an initiation, or practice maybe?. We're really lucky that my mother in law and uncle are relatively unharmed, but everybody is shaken up. My wife and toddler often hang out at their shop too, I'm really glad that they weren't there that day, but really worried. Any advice on what can be done moving forward to prevent/protect them? I'm looking into getting some pepper spray for them. They recorded them on their security cameras, but not much the police can do. [link] [comments]
Options for doorbell Camera with Alexa integration that isn't ring. Posted: 31 Jan 2021 08:57 AM PST Hey folks, Google came up with this sub(not even a post) when searching multiple times. I'm a budget guy in a low crime area, I currently have 8 Wyze Cam v2 monitoring the perimeter of my home. These have been more then sufficient for their intended use. My wife has a business which brings a ton of packages in and out of our home. I'm looking to get a doorbell camera that will notify, and preferably display automatic live video on small area detection where our packages are delivered. Every where I'm searching people continuously recommend ring, but never an alternative. Just hoping to get some opinions, thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Jan 2021 11:28 PM PST Hello, anyone in here aware of ADT command portal software update? When I had the system installed, he mentioned we'd be getting an update in the near future to where we can see our outdoor and doorbell cameras from the ADT COMMAND portal itself. Any info on this would be great! :) [link] [comments]

South African Bush Farm Security Perimeter Posted: 31 Jan 2021 11:24 AM PST I live in southern Midlands outside Durban - inherited my father's farm here. I've installed a ten pack of Tesla Power Walls and 14 Tesla solar panels, so system is off grid. My father had a two layer perimeter fence - outer chain link and inner chain link, with 20 foot roamer road in between. There are beams inside the inner perimeter - which is half acre in circumference. Whole system is cammed to screens inside the house - 20 camera split display and all is full reported to our local security team. But guess what?? I found out my Dad was such a horrible person to his staff, and frankly such a racist, that most of his break ins were from angry and disgruntled house and grounds keepers, who he HAD mistreated. I have turned off the security system entirely, and I treat my staff like HUMAN BEINGS. They received high wages, now, and respect, and the last thing they want to do is see me and my family hurt. THAT is my security, and it is FAR BETTER than all the bullshit my father had. Since I moved here and started this policy, we have gone from at least THREE robbery attempts a year to ZERO - because my people and I are all in this together! Often when you read of 'farm robberies' in South Africa, there is a REASON that farm is targeted, and it is often because of bad relationships between the owners and their staff and neighbors. It does NOT have to be that way SURE, if you need security, do it. But don't neglect the HUMAN side of the equation! [link] [comments]
Are these parts compatible ? (synology nas + poe switch + Amcrest camera) Posted: 31 Jan 2021 03:03 AM PST I am planning to buy two camera to install outdoor in my home I already has a synology nas so I wanted something compatible with it and came up with this list : 1- my synology nas (Surveillance Station app) 2- Amcrest UltraHD 4K (IP8M-2496EB) 3- Ubiquiti NanoSwitch Outdoor 4-Port PoE Passthrough Switch (will this power two cameras with single cat6 cable from my nas?) 4- synology licensing (I never used it but I think I can install the first two camera for free?) is there something I am missing here ? will they all be compatible ?
