Person suspiciously walking around my house

    Posted: 22 Dec 2020 01:26 AM PST

So I have a lot of security cameras around my house and yesterday night at about 3 o'clock it spotted someone walking in my garden and around my house shining lights in the windows. I already contacted the police but the best they could do is give us these alarms which we put at every place where someone could get in. Any other tips on how to keep my house safe from these potential intruders?

Is there someway to access ADT outdoor camera once sub has ended?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2020 03:18 PM PST

I didnt keep ADT subscription. Still have all the equipment. the system still alerts me to doors opening, my code deadbolt still works, and my outdoor camera still at least has power as lights are still on. However I cant log into account anymore without the sub, so I can no longer view the camera as I used to. I had someone break into car last week, have a feeling it was a neighbor and have been trying to investigate if there is a way to still access that camera but havent found much so far. Does anyone know if that is still possible, and if not, is there a way to reset, reroute to a local storage so that I can still use it, or am I gonna be stuck with just having to replace camera?

How to set up a gate that is secure, but you can get out of in a fire (or other emergency)?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2020 10:17 AM PST

I have two gates on the sides of the house. When I moved in, they both had padlocks on the outside of the gates. Kept people out, but zero way to open them from the backyard. On one of them, I moved the latch to the inside of the gate, so I have access to it, but I still have a padlock on it. If you needed to get out without remembering to get the key off the hook, you're screwed. I tried a number combination lock, but it was hard for anyone to see without a flashlight; and finicky. There has to be some good way to do this.

Doorbell and security camera on front porch?

    Posted: 22 Dec 2020 06:02 AM PST

Hi, is it too much to have a doorbell camera and security camera covering the front porch?

I would like a different angle and sometimes the doorbell camera is late picking up motion

Need a camera setup, Arlo let me down

    Posted: 22 Dec 2020 04:18 AM PST

I have an Arlo camera that is pointed at my driveway where we park our 2 cars. My wife and I failed to lock our vehicles. No excuses, our fault. The Arlo camera that points directly at our cars failed to capture anything. I am done with Arlo and want to get a POE setup.

I want something simple to set up. I am moderately tech-savvy and don't mind doing a little work. I would prefer to start with the driveway camera then add to the system as I decide what camera will work for each of my locations.

What system would you suggest? I think an NVR system would be the easiest way to get my feet wet into this area then maybe later add Blue Iris.

Here is the failed Arlo view from when we got home but nothing from the burglary. [Imgur](https://imgur.com/IC4Nk1n)

    Deadbolt guard modification

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 09:16 PM PST

I want to purchase one of those deadbolt flip guards that helps prevent picking and bumping, but I need one that would fit a small master lock so that only I can open it from the inside.

I need this because I would like to be the only one that can release the deadbolt guard.

    Looking for home security help

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 07:05 PM PST

Hello everyone, I just moved into a single family house. I am looking at getting some security cameras put around the house. I want to have them hardwired. I am wondering what has the best color night vision out there. I dont want them to need any light assistance. I dont want the cameras to stand out at night. TIA
