Up and running with Riolink, are my expectations too high? Posted: 10 Sep 2020 08:06 PM PDT Got two Riolink 8MP Poe domes and overall pleased with picture and options,. Obviously catching a license plate appears impossible, especially at night , from what I've read you need like 600$ cameras to do that, if that's the case then I'm good with what we have,. Also noted vehicles in motion are blurred when I pause,. It's at 30 fps, and most comprable ones seem to operate at 30 fps or less, so again are expectations too high? Biggest pet peeve won't continually record to SDcsrd, so looks like I'll be needing a dvr soon [link] [comments] |
Help with red light. DSC alarm panel Posted: 10 Sep 2020 08:00 PM PDT Hi, I have a DSC alarm system complete with a panel in the bedroom. The red "armed" light is super bright and very...red. I'd love to know if there is anyway to turn off the light. Currently using a sticker. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Sep 2020 07:03 PM PDT I know the cameras have certain range to detect motion. Is it possible for a person to be in view of the camera, but not caught on the motion detection? That's fine if that's the case cause both cars are in view. Just want to know if a person could be in view, but not motion detected [link] [comments] |

Home Security Advice, ELI5 Please Posted: 10 Sep 2020 01:38 PM PDT Hey there. Just joined the group. In true ELI5 spirit, i am looking for some advice on getting started with Home Security. Any advice on where to get started and whether i should be looking for Monitoring vs Just Security. DIY vs Pro Setups. The need for cameras vs Just sensors. App based systems vs not? A lot of questions i know, I did try to do some research over the past 2 days but seemed to be hitting ads more often than information that would help me make a decision. So i am turning to reddit for some help. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |

Deadbolt replace for Smart Lock Posted: 10 Sep 2020 09:53 AM PDT Trying to remove this deadbolt in the pictures. Was able to remove the turn piece assembly no problem, but can't get the cambar (not sure if this is correct, basically the bar in the middle) to remove so I can remove the deadbolt properly. Would appreciate any advice any help to get this out! Thanks [link] [comments] |
