Home security: Someone tried getting into my family’s house the other night. We have a camera that records when it senses motion. This was 1am, my stepdad saw it at 2:30, called the cops but they couldn’t find him. Looks like he’s scouting it for a future break in? Any advice?

Are any of these cameras good? I got approved to pay monthly here. I’m a newly single female living alone in a sketchy area. Cameras would make me feel much better. I want live video, alerts, night vision and quality. I need at least 4 cameras because the property is large.

Need help with connecting PoE switch to Lorex NVR

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 01:28 PM PDT

We currently have a Lorex 8 port NVR (model # NR9082)

    https://www.lorextechnology.com/nvr-network-video-recorder/4k-nvr-with-8-channels-and-2-terabyte-hard-drive/NR9082-1-p

We wanted to add a 9th camera via PoE switch. We connected the switch as it says in the instructions. When I try to add the camera in the settings it says "Please remove a device first! There is no free digital channel now" The NVR recognizes the camera that's connected via PoE switch but I can't seem to connect it to a channel. Would anyone know if this model NVR is able to add more channels to it? We tried contacting Lorex but we couldn't get through to their tech support. Their customer support in general seems to be declining lately. 😑

    Any help would be appreciated!
