Anything I can do to protect a mailbox away from my house?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 09:14 PM PST

My mailbox is in a community location with my nearest 8 or so neighbors. It is an old wood post with mailboxes in a row. I've had my mail stolen 3x in the past year. Twice last December/January in quick succession, which directly lead to my identity being stolen and giant mess that I had to clean up. After that I replaced my mailbox with a locking one. Here is a link to a similar mailbox to what we had:

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gibraltar-Mailboxes-Reliant-Large-Locking-Post-Mount-Mailbox-Black-MB981B01/303490318

We didn't have any problems until tonight, where we went out and discovered that our lock was destroyed and our mail taken. It looks like they used some kind of a "lock punch" to get through the lock.

My question is, is there anything I can do about this? I am the furthest house from the mailboxes and I don't have clear line of sight to them. The mail arrived at 4pm (via confirmation email about a package in it) and we went out at 5:30p and it was already gone. This feels like somebody who knew what they were doing. We made a police/USPS report, but those never amounted to anything before.

I know you can't stop a determined thief, and this kind of feels like one of those situations, but I am starting to get paranoid whenever I am expecting a package and I feel like I have to spend all afternoon looking out the window for the postman to get here and I'm sick of it.

Swann CCTV & DVR - No ability to change to colour from B&W

    Posted: 15 Dec 2020 10:23 AM PST

I for some reason cannot access the OSD to change the camera settings back to Colour because the OSD menu no longer displays itself. Anyone come across this before? is there a fix or is it faulty and needs to be returned?

    IR illuminator

    Posted: 15 Dec 2020 03:44 AM PST

Hi lads, looking for a good IR illuminator for my setup. I've had a look on eBay but they seem to all be Chinese generics and can't find much info. Any suggestions on what brand/type to use? Thanks
