Security Lock Vs Deadbolt Versus Vs security bar Posted: 19 Dec 2020 05:11 PM PST This product claims to be 12 times stronger than a deadbolt. Hope to seek the experts' opinion. I'd be ok with 1.5 times stronger to be honest. Also I used a make shift door jammer, but this has a pivoting ball foot. I had been worried about my current one slipping and therefore being ineffective. That model is quite expensive for what it is though. Which by itself do you think would be the most effective by itself and also in combination? [link] [comments] |
Friend's Car Was Stolen, Need Help Accessing Security Footage. Posted: 19 Dec 2020 08:46 PM PST Hey guys, a very close family friend had their car stolen and they need the footage taken from a pretty old security system. They forgot all the details to access the footage, username and password, and forgot what to do. I have a receiver here with "NVR" written on it, there were 6 DSL cables connected to it along with another one that was below them. I pulled out the power (to stop rewriting on the hard drive), ended up opening the whole thing up and I only see one 2TB HDD in there. Model # for the box is: NV4208-8P-4K-2T. I've built pcs before, so I'm familiar with connecting and disconnecting hardware like that. photos: https://imgur.com/W3GAAw8 (edit: typo on Cassini) I hope I have not done something wrong, but I was wondering if I could connect the HDD to my pc and use a data recovery software to pull the videos? This happened about 3 days ago I think, I hope the incident hasn't been overwritten. No idea how to access anything online as there is no contact info for the company that installed the system, no information left behind on how to access the files. Please help! [link] [comments] |
Amcrest ProHD PZT 2MP Pan/Tilt Camera -- anyone have experience? Posted: 19 Dec 2020 09:13 AM PST Hi, I'm looking into this camera and curious if anyone has experience with it? My goal is to have a high resolution camera that can display license plate clearly from 25-50 ft away. I wouldn't mind having it hardwired by a pro, but I need to make sure I get the right camera. Security camera a long distance from the house? Posted: 19 Dec 2020 06:16 AM PST Our neighborhood's mailboxes were raided last night. We're the first house in the neighborhood, so I was thinking of putting a camera at our mailbox that would catch if this happens again. The issue is that our mailbox is a decent distance from our house: not huge distance but too far for a Blink camera or something similar. Would our only option be a wired camera with a long wire running to the house? Are there any solar powered cameras with their own internal storage? [link] [comments] |
