    Cabling through existing foam insulation.

Hello all - I purchased a new house and I'm looking for an opinion based on my situation.

I'm looking at trying to wire 10 PoE cameras in the eaves of my house. I'm super comfortable with cabling, termination, etc - but.

The attic is fully sealed with foam.

What is the best method to go from eaves to attic space while it's foamed? I imagine drilling a hole at 45* in the eaves and pushing some sort of rigid pole into the attic space...

Any suggestions on actual tools to do that? (the rigid poles, conduit, etc) - I have a drill :p

    Thank you!

New Homeowner - Motion Light & Camera Help

    Posted: 17 Dec 2020 10:36 AM PST

    Hi everyone,

I just moved into a my home a few months back and as I'm getting settled, realized there's a lot I need to do to improve security. Specifically, it lacks outdoor lighting with the exception of one porch light in the front. I wish I had given this more thought before we put in foam insulation/rewired some of the house, but here we are. I initially want motion activated flood lights, preferably ones that can be programed to be on at dusk-to-dawn for a few hours, then switch to motion activated for the remainder of the night.

Another consideration is that I know I eventually want cameras. I initially wanted to go POE since it seemed like the most secure option with one at the front door, one in front of the garage, and two on each side of the house.

I figured it would be more efficient to get all of the work done up front, but my question is, based on my description, would you have any recommendations or things that you guys would do differently? Bonus points for things that might be homekit/apple friendly.
