    I'm looking for something pretty basic, preferably no more than $300. It does not need to have any cloud uploading or an alarm, just something with nice battery life, a fairly clear picture at night, and little to no wires.

    I'm having trouble finding something that's not overly fancy or expensive as it's for my mother who isn't the most tech-savvy.

    I have a garage that has power supply to it, but has no wifi connection. Should I just connect a second router for the garage? Also I would like to have one camera that can detect car license plates. Is it legal to point a camera into an intersection to detect car license plates?

    I'm considering getting this system as a household and property surveillance system. Anyone have any experience with it? Alternative recommendations? Pros / cons?
